The 5 Steps of Self Evolution Anyone Can Follow to Achieve in Life

I have repeated basically the same information multiple times to my kiddos in the last several months as we work to make positive changes in our lives.  A few weeks ago, it occurred to me that our success is directly related to how well we use it.  Therefore, I felt we should formalize the information and go over it before we dive into the components of the “My Intentional Life Journey” program.

Living intentional starts by adopting these basic principles of self evolution.

Step 1 – Be Self Aware

Recognize and take ownership for your feelings and behaviors.  Until you can look within yourself, admit your faults and embrace your strengths, you won’t be able to be honest with yourself or others.  This is by far the hardest discipline to develop.  Therefore, deliberate effort, continually practice, patience, and perseverance are essential to your success.

 Step 2 – Decide

Make a decision on what will be your new reality, aka, desired outcome.

Step 3 – Commit

Dedicate yourself to achieving your new reality by setting goals and creating a plan for attainment.

Step 4 – Act

Take action to follow through and fulfill your commitment.

Step 5 – Evaluate

Assess your efforts by going through the steps again.

  • Determine when you will evaluate your progress in your plan for attainment.
  • Evaluate progress at any point the plan of attainment is no longer valid or useful.
  • When you have achieved attainment, you will know in step number 2 of your evaluation!
